For our March cakeup we really wanted to make the most of the last of the warm weather in Canberra and have an outdoor event. So what better place than Mint Garden Bar to do this at; the place where the idea of Canberra Cake Club was born in the first place! The theme of course was a given; cocktails!
We were lucky to have beautiful autumn weather on the day of the cakeup; plenty of sunshine and blue skies. It was the perfect afternoon to eat cocktail infused cakes and relax in the beautiful garden setting at Mint Garden Bar with a cocktail or two from the bar. Thank you to Sage Restaurant and Mint Garden Bar for hosting us.
And another special thank you to Bec from Sweet Tea who offered her beautiful vintage cake stands, plates and silverware for our cakeup. Bec was kind enough to help us set up everything on the day and thanks to Sweet Tea we had the most glamorous and elegant cakeup to date!
And finally, we were also lucky to be filmed by Greg Nelson from ABC TV for 7.30 ACT! Greg contacted us few weeks ago expressing interest in filming a cakeup as he thought it was a great little Canberra story and of course we couldn't agree more. We will let you know when the segment will air on 7.30 ACT. Thank you Greg and ABC TV for Canberra Cake Club's television debut!
So now to the creations... all our bakers reported back saying this was a really fun theme to bake for and it showed in all the bright and colourful creations that we had on the day. So let the photos do the talking....

Of course the CCC commitee needs a drink after all that hard work, right? |
Our third cakeup was another sweet success and we couldn't have done it without our talented and enthusiastic bakers and guests.
Special thanks to
Sweet Tea for helping us put together a lovely vintage tea party
